Unofficial Open Studios at INSTUDIO

INSTUDIO invites art & interior design enthusiast to visit their new studio at “Unofficial Open Studios”, Saturday & Sunday, November 3 – 4, 2012 from 11am to 6pm.

The Design Directors of INSTUDIO are equally fine artists and interior designers.  INSTUDIO interior design clients often select works that were created by the Design Directors to include in their home or business interior design.

“Unofficial Open Studios” began several years ago to parallel with Artspan “official” Open Studios at Hunters Point Shipyard & Islais Creek.  Open Studios is a means for artists to show their work in their studios. For the weekend, Samuel Fleming Lewis, Stephen Kladder and Lynne Gillan are taking over the corridor leading to their interior design studio and transforming the space into a mini gallery. This event will also serve as an open house for their new design studio.

The selection of art is a personal choice. The best way to find out what you like is view a lot of art and determine out what you are drawn to.  Select paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs, prints and ceramics by what attracts you rather than by the collectability of the artist.  Artspan Open Studios allows you to develop a relationship with an artist.

INSTUDIO believes that the selection of artwork is equally as important as purchasing your first pieces of furniture. An art collection can guide interior design direction, style and color choices while developing rooms.  The designers advocate the collection of original art. A one of a kind work of art reflects personal taste like no other item in your home.
